GEF/I is focused on educating today’s youth and young adults, Passing the Torch of non-violent civic engagement to today’s youth and giving an historic perspective to Black students, empowering them with “a sense of belonging,” and a success mindset to achieve in any learning environment.

GEF/I’s Passing the Torch to America’s Youth tour, is an assembly with all students their teachers, educators, and civil/voting rights luminaries to personally meet and engage with each other through Q&A sessions - after the students have viewed the documentary, Passing the Torch. The story of Selma Alabama’s voting rights movement, told by the men, women and children that lived the struggle. Students and teachers marching for social justice and changing the world as a direct result of their sacrifice.
