Effective Black Parenting

GEF/I has incorporated the training modules for “Effective Black Parenting,” to provide parents of school age students with the tools and techniques in a culturally rich context, to be effective partners in their children’s education and character growth.

Effective Black parenting, is a culturally relevant parenting class, that embraces and celebrates black culture, and explores the unique parenting styles of black people. It incorporates the historical journey of African American from slavery, through Jim Crow to understand certain parent techniques past down from generations to generation, and create a structure for learning, and adapting best practices.

This is done over a twelve week period, once a week, or in a six week period twice per week. Usually 90 minutes each session. After attendee completes this course they will earn a certificate in E.B.P. This course also meets court ordered requirements.
